ABOUT THE LEAGUE - 2010

Organization:
Play will be each Monday night at 5:30 P.M. at The Falls Golf Course in the Turtle Creek subdivision in O’Fallon. We will use a shotgun start. We begin April 5 and go through August 23. The only exception is Memorial Day. We will not play Monday, May 31. The league finale will be Sunday, August 29, and will feature an 18-hole shotgun scramble and awards banquet.

Note: All members will meet at the club house at 5:15 for announcements and prayer prior to tee-off.

The league will be organized into two-man teams. Each member has the option of selecting his partner. If no partner is selected, one will be assigned.

Teams will play according to a pre-determined schedule with each team playing equal amounts of time on the back and front nines. Team standings will be based on the number of points accumulated from weekly matches. This year we will have a certain number of weeks of regular play depending on the size of the league. After the completion of regular play, the league will be divided into divisions. Each division will have a playoff to determine the division champion. Trophies will be awarded to each division champion and the second place team in the Alpha division. The First and second place teams in the Alpha division will be considered the league champions and runner-ups.

Membership:

This league is open to men, 16 years of age and older, who attend Christian churches and who are men of like faith. Due to our witness to the public and the youth of the league, no smoking, drinking, cursing, or inappropriate language or behavior will be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the league. Also, each member is expected to follow golf etiquette such as being quiet when a player is hitting, repairing ball marks, not driving in the rough and close to the green, etc.

Costs:
$70.00 is due with your membership application. This will cover the green fees for the first and last rounds of regular play, and the cost of trophies and prizes associated with the league Finale. Depending on the cost of the Finale (banquet, carts, and green fees), there may be additional costs.

The weekly greens fee is $22.00 including cart. The price is the same if you are walking. There are no special rates for youth and seniors. The league coordinator is responsible for collecting greens fees from each member of the league and making one payment to the course. The coordinator will collect the greens fees one week in advance. Please have your payment ready beginning April 5. Make checks out to Falls Golf. If you pay in advance for each month, the greens fee for the last week will be free. If you have a sub and the sub is to pay for the round, please notify me and I will reimburse you.

Attendance:
In the event you can not be at the course, you are expected to find a sub. A sub must be a male, 16 years of age or older. A sub list will be on the website but you are not restricted to this list. Anyone who is a sub will be added to the list. Please put the full name and phone number of the sub on the score card so records may be updated.
If your sub does not arrive by tee off time, your opponents will play against a blind. The blind is calculated by taking your raw average and adding a 10% penalty. The score by hole is calculated using the handicap by hole.

Please note: The league is required to pay for the contracted number of players each week. This means all members are required to pay their greens fees regardless if you are there or not. If you have a sub, the sub may pay for you depending on your arrangements with him. However, if the sub does not show, you will be required to pay the greens fees.

Communication:

The results of weekly matches will be available weekly on our website, www.cfgolfleague.com. There will be no hard copies. You will be notified by e-mail when the website is updated. Please ensure your e-mail address on the application is accurate and inform me of any address changes during the season.

Scoring:
Each match is worth 13 points, one point for each hole and two points for each head to head match. All score calculations to include total individual scores, points by hole and match, averages, handicaps, blinds, incomplete rounds, birdies, eagles, etc. will be done mechanically. Complete details concerning calculations are on the website:
www.cfgolfleague.com under 'Official Rules of Play'. Each team should agree on each player's strokes per hole and write them on their scorecard. At the end of the match, a member of each team should sign the scorecard and submit it to the league coordinator or his designate. Beginning this year, each team will keep the score card of the opposing team.

Note: If a member or sub has an established average and handicap from the previous season, it will be used for the first night.

Thank you,
